OUR PROMISE

Editorial Charter

Shikor means roots. We tell the stories of Bangladeshis everywhere: in the USA, Canada, Europe, Bangladesh and every place our families have made home.

What we cover

We focus on achievement, creativity, innovation and collaboration. We report on people who build things, solve problems and bring communities together. We cover music, film, sports, education, business and technology with the same care we give to news.

How we cover it

We report facts we can check, and we credit our sources. When we get something wrong, we correct it openly.

We treat every country, every faith and every political leader with respect. We do not take sides in party politics, and we do not publish content that mocks or attacks any community.

Constructive does not mean uncritical. When a story involves a real challenge, we report it honestly and look for the people working on solutions.

Independence

Advertising and sponsorship never decide what we cover or what we say. Sponsored content is always labeled. Our lists and awards are chosen by panels, not paid for.

Talk to us

If you see an error, or have a story from your community, write to us through our contact page.

Our Promise

We celebrate achievement, creativity and collaboration. We report with respect for every country, every faith and every leader.
