He co-founded Pathao, the ride-hailing and delivery app that became the first Bangladeshi company to offer ride-sharing abroad.

Hussain M. Elius co-founded Pathao in March 2015 with Fahim Saleh and Shifat Adnan. It grew into a super-app for rides, food and parcel delivery across Bangladesh.

In 2018 Pathao became the first Bangladeshi company to offer ride-sharing outside the country, in Nepal. Elius was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia in 2019.
